June 23 @ 7:30 am - June 24 @ 4:00 pm$695 – $4995
KTM School of Racing, Stage 2
June 23 – June 24, 2021
After a brief look back at the techniques learned in the first stage, Stage 2 opens with a deeper exploration of the art of driving a fully-fledged aerodynamic race car, with particular emphasis on corner entry, exit speed maximization, and the benefits of balancing aero downforce characteristics appropriately. Open-lapping sessions will then allow drivers to apply what they’ve learned into faster times on the track, with high-tech data analysis highlighting errors and improving performances even further. The arts of passing and race craft will also be practiced during Stage 2, ensuring that by the end of the second day, participants are sufficiently qualified to apply for an SCCA Full Competition Racing License.
1. What is required to drive the KTM X-BOW Race Car?
Drivers should have a good, general understanding of how to drive a car. The KTM X-Bow race car is equipped with a paddle-shift transmission so drivers do not need to be proficient in manual transmission operation.
2. What if I Crash? Am I liable for the cost of repairs?
You are responsible for crash damage. Insurance can be purchased to lower your maximum out of pocket expenses. Please contact us for more information. A copy of your credit card will be collected at check-in
3. Do I need my driver’s license to race one of your KTM X-BOW?
No, a license is not required. In fact, our racing school is open to drivers 16 years and older ( if they can drive a manual transmission well ). Please check with a racing consultant if you want to drive, but don’t meet the normal age requirement.
4. What if it rains?
For this program specifically, the event will only operate on dry weather days. If rain is forecasted, drivers will have the option to reschedule to a mutually agreeable date.
5. Can I bring my own equipment?
Yes, but your driving suit needs to be a minimum of 2-layer nomex, and your helmet must meet current Snell approval. If you need racing shoes, a loaner pair is provided to you at no charge.
6. Can I bring spectators?
Yes, you can bring your fans to watch or take photos for you.
7. How do I get my SCCA license?
You are eligible for an SCCA racing license upon successful completion of Stage 1 & 2 School of Racing courses. Once you have completed the courses, you can request an application from your racing consultant, and they will help you through the process.
